14-16 Provision Courses
Young people aged 14-16 can be referred by teachers to attend one of the training sites where they can start to work towards a range of high quality vocational qualifications. They are able to work towards the ‘Vocational Access Certificate’ and an NVQ Level 1 qualification.
All young people will undertake an initial assessment and be provided with a Personal Learning Agreement, which will outline targets and progression routes. The programme was launched in 2002 across the three training delivery sites of Sheffield City Council’s Employment Unit – Sheaf Training, Red Tape Studios and Tritec Computer Training, and has seen impressive results with attendance rates reaching 85% in some areas. Attendance is flexible according to the needs of the individual and their curriculum. Current provision for 14-16 year olds across the sites: - Business Administration
