The Course
This course will teach you how to use word processing software. You do not need to be very experienced on a computer, but should be able to use the mouse and keyboard. You will find this course easier if you have already done the entry level course.
There is no exam. Some of your class work will be marked by your tutor and used as the assessment. These assessed tasks will show that you have met the requirements of the course.
By completing this course you will gain a National Open College Network (NOCN) certificate and credits towards a full level 1 qualification.
Course content includes
The main aim of this course is to:
Create and edit simple documents to communicate information to an audience
in a professional way
To do this, you will learn these skills and techniques:
Spell check, save and print work
Open documents and templates
Formatting text (font size, type and style)
Alter the page layout (margins, orientation, alignment)
Present information in lists using bullets, numbering and simple tables
Insert clip art into a document
Cut, copy and paste text or pictures
